How could I forget!

We saw the Dalai Lama yesterday! We got tickets to go to his talk at the Ottawa Civic Centre... it was a sellout at 9000 people.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. The topic was 'Global Communities'.

He got comfortable (as you see in the picture to the right) by taking off his shoes and sitting cross-legged. He then popped on a matching red visor to see the crowd better.

He was funny (and laughs at his own jokes as well, making him that much more charming), insightful, and unafraid to speak his mind, though any opinions that might be taken as remotely negative (such as some of George Bush's policies) were made with respect.

His message: we are all humans, and should treat each other with humanity.

Steve and I had to leave just before the closing ceremonies so that he could catch his flight to Halifax, but my sister, who came with us, said that the parking lot was never so civil when they left :)

That's funny about the parking lot peace. That would have been SO COOL to hear him speak!

Oh by the way, I tagged you over in a game on my blog. Looks like you could use a posting nudge :)
